From September 4 to 7, 2025, the 32nd Chinese Urological Association Annual Meeting (CUA2025) was successfully held at the Dalian International Conference Center. As China's first autonomous robotic system for urology, Healinno Tech showcased its metaFlow® Robotic System, attracting widespread attention with its innovative heat-free precision cutting technology and bringing fresh momentum to one of the most influential academic events in urology.
On September 6, Dr. Jiang Rui, from the team of Professors Zhang Kai and Meng Yisen at Peking University First Hospital, presented "Preliminary Study on the Efficacy, Safety, and Preservation of Sexual Function of a Domestically Developed Waterjet Robotic System for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)." The presentation highlighted the successful integration of China's homegrown medical innovation with leading clinical research.
A Homegrown Breakthrough: From Industrial Waterjet to Precision Surgery
At the CUA2025 exhibition, the metaFlow® Robotic System attracted extensive interest from both domestic and international experts with its fully autonomous tissue resection capability. Its key advantage lies in automatically planning the resection path using ultrasound imaging while intelligently avoiding critical anatomical structures such as the verumontanum and bladder neck. The system utilizes a high-speed saline waterjet to achieve precise tissue resection without thermal injury, significantly reducing the risk of complications. Compared with conventional surgical techniques, waterjet technology better preserves surrounding blood vessels and tissues, helping maintain urinary continence and sexual function.

During the Engineering Session on September 6, Dr. Jiang Rui from the Department of Urology, Peking University First Hospital, delivered the presentation titled "Preliminary Study on the Efficacy, Safety, and Preservation of Sexual Function of a Domestically Developed Waterjet Robotic System for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)."
Dr. Jiang highlighted that the metaFlow® Robotic System significantly shortens the resection time for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) through its proprietary technologies. Guided by intelligent ultrasound-based surgical planning, the system visually avoids critical anatomical structures, helping preserve essential functions while reducing the risks of urinary incontinence and ejaculatory dysfunction. This approach addresses patients' growing expectation of maintaining quality of life alongside effective treatment.

The success of Healinno Tech at CUA2025 is rooted in its unwavering commitment to clinically driven innovation. Since its founding, the company has secured three consecutive rounds of investment from leading deep-tech funds, state-owned capital, and healthcare-focused investment firms, enabling the successful transition from core technology development to clinical application.
In December 2023, the metaFlow® Robotic System was accepted into the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) Innovative Medical Device Special Review Program. The first clinical trial procedure was successfully completed by Professor Liu Ming's team at Beijing Hospital. Prior to CUA2025, the system had been used in more than one hundred clinical cases across leading hospitals in China, earning broad recognition for its heat-free tissue resection, rapid patient recovery, and excellent functional preservation.
High-energy waterjet therapy for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) has already been recommended by the American Urological Association (AUA), European Association of Urology (EAU), and Chinese Urological Association (CUA) clinical guidelines. Building upon this technology, Healinno Tech has further streamlined the the full process of image-based planning, autonomous execution, and real-time monitoring.

The successful presentation of Healinno Tech at CUA2025 coincided with the final year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan for the Medical Equipment Industry, which emphasizes the deep integration of IT with medical devices and prioritizes the development of advanced medical robotics, providing strong strategic support for domestic medical innovation.
From industrial waterjet technology to medical robotics, and from laboratory innovation to clinical implementation, the journey of Healinno Tech reflects China's steady progress toward independent innovation in high-end medical equipment. As Healinno Tech CEO Stanley Shi stated:
"We hope to contribute our expertise to the advancement of China's medical device industry and ultimately realize our vision of Lean Healthcare for Everyone."
At CUA2025, this collaborative innovation between Chinese engineers and leading clinical institutions marked another significant step toward a new era of intelligent surgery.
